Summary of Job Function: The Oclaro Sales Manager is the primary liaison between our customers and the internal teams responsible for Product Line Management, Development, and Operations. The primary role of - Oclaro, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets semiconductor laser diode components and modules used in materials processing, medical treatment, printing and consumer applications. It sells its high power laser and VCSEL products to industrial equipment and consumer electronic vendors. The company was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in San Jose, CA. - For our Zurich site, we are looking for a - Sales Manager - to continue to grow our European business. - Summary of Job Function: - The Oclaro Sales Manager is the primary liaison between our customers and the internal teams responsible for Product Line Management, Development, and Operations. The primary role of the Sales Manager is to develop Oclaro s business with a strong focus on Tier1 and 2 players in the industrial and consumer markets in Europe and support and grow the existing customer base. The Sales Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Sales for Industrial and Consumer markets. Candidates must have the ability to work with cross-cultural, cross-functional teams in multiple geographies, and to execute complex activities in a short amount of time. - Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: -
- Develop Oclaro s business in Europe in the industrial and consumer markets and manage all activity with customers within that region -
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue growth plans in the region -
- Develop, present and execute account plans consistent with product line and corporate strategies -
- Lead and execute all commercial activities, Negotiate supply contracts and lead negotiation with customer and internal resources lead cross functional teams to meet customer commitments and achieve highest customers satisfaction -
- Provide Oclaro with data and analysis on forecast, customers, competition and end users -
- Requirements and qualifications: -
- Master s degree in a technical discipline (optics, physics or engineering preferred) -
- Previous sales experience in Europe customers is required -
- Candidate must be fluent in English, additional language (European) is a plus -
- The candidate must have experience with: -
- Minimum 5 years of account management, sales, or business development/product management experience; ideally in lasers / components for industrial and consumer applications -
- Must be willing to travel extensively in the region -
- Solid understanding of sales processes and sales strategy ability to develop and execute account plans -
- Ability to work independently and as a self motivated team player with professional work ethic -
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships up to Executive levels -
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills -
